Effective Foot Pain Treatment
Your feet are amazing pieces of machinery. Each one has 26 bones held together with a complex system of muscles, ligaments and tendons. When pain occurs, Raleigh and surrounding area residents contact Family Foot & Ankle Center for foot pain treatment. One of the most common causes of foot pain is hallux abducto valgus or HAV for short. You probably know it as a bunion. Whatever it is called, it causes unnecessary discomfort. It is a metatarsal deviation, a deformity in one of your foot bones that can be successfully treated, often with surgery.

Pain in your heel can be caused by a number of different conditions, including stress fractures, arthritis and nerve irritation. The most common condition is called plantar fasciitis. It can be especially hard to live with because it can often be at its worse when you first get out of bed in the morning. It happens when the plantar fascia, a fibrous band of tissue, is strained. This can be caused by wearing shoes with insufficient support, standing on your feet for work or may occur because you have flat feet or high arches. It is important to address the symptoms early. Caught in time, heel pain treatment may be as simple as stretching exercises, proper footwear and ice. If those don’t solve the problem, we will work on additional therapies like cortisone injections or orthotics with you. Surgery is generally not required, though we can help if it is.
