Dr. Douglas C. Smith, DPM, DABPS, FACFAS, CWS

Dr. Douglas C. Smith is a magna cum laude graduate of William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University – The Chicago Medical School. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and completed his surgical residency at Central Community Hospital in Clifton, Illinois.

Following his residency, Dr. Smith joined Family Foot & Ankle Center, where he has been caring for patients ever since. He is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (DABPS), a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (FACFAS), and a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) through the American Academy of Wound Management. His clinical expertise includes diabetic foot care and wound management.

Dr. Smith is an active member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society, where he served as president of the Triangle Zone for nine years. He currently serves on the Board of Managers for InStride Foot & Ankle Specialists. He is also on staff at Duke-Raleigh and Maria Parham hospitals.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Smith enjoys cycling, running, music, and hiking with his wife.
